Description
Cappy Ricks, a salty and strong-willed sea captain, returns from months at sea only to find that life on land has gone completely off course. His once orderly household and thriving business have fallen into disarray: his daughter is engaged to a dim-witted young man he can barely tolerate, while her overbearing mother-in-law-to-be has seized control of both family and finances. To make matters worse, she plans to merge Cappy’s proud shipping company with that of a long-time rival—and, in the name of “modern progress,” she’s even replaced the crew of his cherished vessel, the Electra, with an automated system!
Never one to let mutiny stand, Cappy launches a clever scheme to reclaim his ship, his family, and his dignity, proving that experience and grit still count for something in a world obsessed with machines and mergers.
