Description
The Toshiba HD-A30 and HD-A35 are high-definition DVD players, but the A35 model includes additional features like Deep Color support and better audio decoding. By upgrading the A30 to A35 firmware, you unlock these extra capabilities without needing to buy a new player.
Upgrade Procedure:

Insert the CD with firmware labeled A30-dirty1.

When prompted, select Yes to update.

The display will show VER UP for a while, then count through STEP 2/4, before stopping at 10004050 on the display. The TV screen will still show Updating. Do not turn off.

Wait 10 minutes, then unplug the power cord.

Wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in and turn the player on with the remote.

The display will show WELCOME, then VER UP.

Press Right Arrow (→) once, then OK once.

The disc will eject automatically.

Insert the CD with firmware labeled A35-dirty2.

After a moment, the display will show VER UP. Press OK once.

The player will count from STEP 1/4 to STEP 4/4 (this step can take up to 20 minutes).

When complete, the disc will eject, and the player will turn off.

Remove the disc and turn the player back on.
Your HD-A30 is now running HD-A35 firmware (v1.3). To upgrade further, install HD-A35 firmware v4.0.
Reverting to HD-A30:
- Use A35-dirty1 as the first disc.
- Use A30-dirty2 as the second disc.
